The Global Industrial process

Planning phase
- Client approached Global for a price on selective racking for a small warehouse located in Deer Park they had recently leased.
- The customer had a variety of configurations and number of levels in mind that they wanted to achieve. Ultimately settling on 4 evenly spaced beam levels 1219mm apart.
- Beam capacity had to hold 3,000kg UDL per level as they were storing 1,500kg pallets
- The warehouse was still occupied by the previous tenants at time of quoting, therefore a floorplan with measurements was provide to confirm runs would fit within the space.

Understanding constraints of the environment
- The roof line was lower along the side walls and structural beams had to be considered when choosing the overall height of the racking.

Design & engineering process
- The in-house Global Design Module was used to ensure the racking was designed to be compliant with AS4084:2012 and the correct frames and placement of beams was used to ensure this.
- 4877mm high frames
- 2591 x 120mm beams to hold 2 pallets per level

Delivery and installation process
- Global arranged for the materials to be delivered to site the day prior to installation. Which was the same day as the customer took occupancy of the building. Unfortunately the previous tenant left the entire warehouse full of rubbish and delivery and installation had to be re-scheduled once the site was cleared.
- An installation company was subcontracted by Global to perform the install.

Selective Pallet Racking
Using all standard stocked items 4877mmH x 838mmD x 2591mmL
4 evenly spaced beam levels rated to 3150kgs UDL per level.
Load sign for pallet racking
All load signs were installed at the end of each run approximately 2000mm high from the ground (just above eye height)
Fully labelled with the safe work load capacities based on each specific run.
